WHAT WE DO

Talent Management Services

By Talent Manager we are referring to that singular individual that coordinates the entire career of an artist, an athlete, or a thespian to include other sub-managers, agents, accountants, Public Relations personnel and enablers that are necessary for the eventual and continuous success of the talent. The position of a talent manager at CAM has played an important role in the success of countless artistic talents across the globe. Creative Artist’s role encompasses a range of tasks from originating collaborations, to cheerleading, to orchestrating projects, to managing workflow, to being a legal watchdog, to planning releases and booking shows, to protecting our clients interests towards an expected end.

Finding and nurturing great artistic talent is an essential role we play in the industry. The first step is finding genuine talent. As obvious as this may seem, finding a talent with the following 7 golden attributes of success is not always straightforward. Hence CAM has launched our popular Client Courtship Entry Program. Most music labels, sports teams, movie production houses or publishing houses shield themselves from direct interactions with talent to avoid notably, the excessive work of sifting through thousands of otherwise mediocre talent as well as the prospect of litigation by requiring that talent and artists be represented by registered agents and or managers.
Below are some of the key points any talent who wants to appear more desirable for management at CAM should consider.

1. Talent
Talent of course is our first consideration. Everything starts with talent, though talent alone may not be enough. In the industry, talent speaks for itself.
Some artists may be a bit rough around the edges, but like a diamond in the rough waiting to be polished to bring out its multi dimensional shine, our agents have the instincts to spot potential. Once great talent is spotted as undeniable, our agents and managers set to work to polish and strengthen it with the right direction until it blossoms.

2. Individuality
As more and more artists begin to emerge each year and tens of thousands of songs are released each day (around 40,000 to Spotify daily, according to Business of Apps), it’s more important now than ever to find a unique-sounding artist with an individual spark. This goes for other talent types as well. Individualism means uniqueness, the ability to do what everyone’s doing but with a unique twist that is both refreshing and all your own. Uniqueness helps you stand out from the competition and entice more distinctive creators to join your brand.

3. Drive
Finding an artistic talent with a powerful drive to succeed will make our job not only easier but more exciting. Having a passionate artist will radiate inspiring energy and ensure that they stay on top of our directions when pushing them to further their career.

4. Vision
An artist with a strong vision of where they want to take themselves professionally will help the artist and the manager easily set goals, and a career timeline and help manage expectations. If the vision is clear for both the talent and the manager, success will come naturally as you will both have the same aspirations for the future. CAM can then spend more time putting the wheels in motion for new projects, leaving the artist to get creative and focus fully on the work at hand.

5. Dedication
Along with drive, dedication is the key to success in this industry. At CAM, even with the most talented artist, without dedication, the talent just becomes a one hit wonder. Dedication also means the talent can’t be a jack of all trades but must focus on one over riding aspect of the spectrum of their talent to the exclusion of others until they break through. The individual must be ready to put in the work, pull out all the stops and be passionate enough to give it their all. Working with a dedicated artist will take the strain off the management team when it comes to providing direction. It’s always easier managing and carving out new opportunities when management does not have to spend time constantly prompting talent to put in the work.

6. Communication
Like with many professional and social relationships, communication is paramount to keeping everyone happy. Good communication between the manager and an artist will speed up the workflow process and help spawn new ground-breaking ideas. Honesty and respect also plays a key role here, as an open dialogue about what the manager thinks is best for the artist and the ability to compromise with the needs of the talent will build a stronger bond. In other words – CAM will listen to the talent but the talent must also be ready to compromise to superior vision and direction from his management team.

7. Success
Success is the crown jewel on the entire endeavor and value chain. It’s important that we sign someone we think has what it takes to excel both in their careers and notoriety simultaneously. Talent with a proven track record of success will certainly possess many of the characteristics listed above and already have a good idea of what works for them in their chosen industry,  as well as what their audience demographic is.

If you have these qualities you are on your way to becoming a star, you may submit your media files for consideration to our CLIENT COURTSHIP ENTRY PROGRAM
